Right so first of all- the actual show. Wow. Thought it was amazing, to say the least. Hate to disagree with you Abby, but I thought the whole audience participation was bloody brilliant. We did both the matinee and evening, so at the first one it wasn't as loud; it was just one bloke next to me yelling the comebacks. At first I thought he was a bit weird, a tosser even, but I seriously enjoyed the lines after a while! The evening show was...ahhh just the atmosphere! The whole theatre becoming part of the show... I mean I knwo the audience aren't the actors, but just little things like holding scores up when Rocky flips made me crack up with laughter. Loved the "arsehole" and "slut" thing too. I know that people yelling stuff back isn't for everyone, but for me it created the most electric atmosphere, and I loved the way that the cast interacted with the lines. Eg, when everyone booed the Narrator, he said "Oooh I'm being harrassed!"...."by a chick"....."at least I think it's a chick..."...."Looks more like a wanker to me!" Made the whole night even better.

I was actually shaking after David's entrance! Sooo sexy, and sweet transvestite in an American accent just put a whole new spin on Frank. He played him different to how Tim Curry did, IMO he added a more vulnerable yet ruthless dimension; he made the audience fall in love with him (although I found that alarmingly easy...!)
I can Make you a Man was sexy to the limits, and don't even get me started on the bed scene!! Don't want to go into the details, in case there are people who haven't seen it yet, but phwooooooar!!

So at the end, during the Time Warp reprise, David kind of stands on the left of the stage, kind of half dancing and half looking at the audience. Well our tickets in the evening were in the second row back, right on the left hand side! When he was looking into the audience, I tried to get his attention by yelling 'I love you David' and stuff like that (sad I know...), and he finally caught my eye. I kept blowing kisses and mimed 'I love you', and he mimed it back twice! Then he started pointing at me and jumping! I just couldn't stop smiling after that and cheering for him!

Soo at the stage door, we spoke to a nice woman with a T-Shirt from JS, who had also seen David in Hedwig. Welll about 5 mins later I mentioned something to Claire about the website, and the nice lady overheard, and asked if I was Tania- turns out it was Agnes!! Was lovely to meet her after all this chatting and stuff online- such a coincidence that she was over when I was- yay!

So after much nervous waiting, David finally came out (with an adorable little lunch packet thing- ham and cheese sandwich and maltesers to "eat on the train"). He had a chat with others for a while before coming over- think the big group of people were the Time Warp fan club - the bloke whose birthday it was was definitely the guy who runs the club!
So anyway, David came over and said "Haven't seen you in ages!" and was suprised when I told him it had been a year since the Hedwig rehearsal thingy. I got out the picture for him to sign, as well as our programmes, Claire's poster, and her picture with the two of them. So happy he remembered me!
Agnes' friend got a picture taken with him, and while they posed, David said "I can't believe this- her hand is actually on my bum!" It was so funny! So when I got a photo done, I had to ask him if I could my hand there, and he said "Ah, go on then"... so I did.... Couldn't not ask!

So yeah. All in all a magical day (helped by England's victory *cough* own goal over Paraguay). The show was just so different to anything else I've seen, because the interaction just created this relationship between the actors and audience that just made everything so much more personal- it had such an effect on all of us! Highlights: Sweet Transvestite (duh!), I can Make you a Man, Eddie's Teddy, and Rose Tint my World... and the Time Warp Reprise was just amaaazing (use that word WAY too much!)

I had no clue who David Bedella was (although I had seen JSTO, but not payed much attention to the names of the cast)until I saw Rocky early this year. And wow! Even in fishnets and suspendors, he looks hot.

It was the first time I had ever seen the Rocky Horror Show. My dad had been trying to get me to watch the film since I was 13, but took one look at the 70's graphics and I turned off. I took him to see it as a Christmas present and fell in love with the whole thing! Of course, I can't tell him that.

David, in my opinion, stole the show, although the whole cast were good and you could tell, enjoyed every minute of it. I have to admit, I prefer David to Tim Curry. I think he played it with so much more depth, with stunning charisma and the most breathtaking voice I have ever heard.

After only one show, I have transformed into a Bedella Fan!

I went to see David in Rocky at Stoke on the final night, (evening show, sats 2nd June) and all i can say is fantastic, He has made frank come alive again. He played the part brilliantly. :)

Damnit I didn't see this I just posted a Tag! More details there. I saw Rocky in Wimbledon (with Richard O'Brien, wow!) and I'm seeing it next week too, the last week of the run. Would have loved to see the last night, I could have but unfortunately it's easier if i just work that day :(
Just to say what a good forum, well done, such an excellant topic, too ! *grin* Mr Bedella is luuuurvely. I've completely fallen in love with his voice too, his performance was so alive and expressive. He was the highlight of the show, and that's saying something!! :) Rai is right he stole the show and the audience was completely swept away by the whole experience and by him! His ability to control heckles is impressive too, you need it for Rocky; the audience have their own scripts!
